Angry Birds Space: Kills Mobile Download Records, 50 Million in 35 Days
Rovio, the maker of Angry Birds, announced today that the latest edition to the franchise, Angry Birds Space, has hit 50 million downloads in just 35 days. According to the game's developer, Angry Birds Space is the 'fastest growing mobile game' ever released, and has broken all previous records set by Angry Birds games. Angry Birds Space, which launched on March 22, is just as addicting as its predecessors, with the same bird slinging, pig hitting, fun, but this time they added a gravitational element. The app includes 60 levels of interspace play, and is available on iOS and Android devices, as well as for MAC and PC users. Angry Birds has become a cultural phenomenon since it first launched in 2009, complete with stuffed animals, key chains, and themed Halloween costumes. The game currently sits at the top of Apple's App Store, no doubt contributing to its rapid download speed.
